REA-I is:
- A social network seeking to meet new friends and assisting with retirement issues
- An independent organization with coordinated support between REA-I and the National Retired Teacher's Assn (NRTA), a division of AARP
- Instrumental in raising pension benefits and preserving benefits for retirees
- Monitoring Idaho state legislative and retirement proceedings
