COMMUNITY SERVICE REPORT:
Marjene Waford, STATE COMM. SERVICE CHAIR.
Volunteer projects being carried out by our units are outstanding and so innovative! Keep up the good work!
Great news! We got a raise. The dollar value for an hour of volunteer service is now $22.14.
A worthy community service project is Idaho Food Bank's Backpack program. Every weekend, thousands of backpacks, loaded with food to supply 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches, 2 dinners, and 2 snacks, are sent home with needy kids to help them have full tummy's while they are away from school. This is done with participating parents' permission.
It costs $6.20 per child per weekend. $28.80 feeds 1 hungry child every weekend for a month; $120 pays for half of a school year; $229.40 provides 1 hungry child with food every weekend for an entire year.
Mail your backpack donations to: The Idaho Foodbank Gift Processing Department, P.O. Box 5601, Boise, ID 83705-0601 or go online to: idahofoodbank.org
